Najla Survives Verbal Attacks

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Najla

Tunisian singer Najla is currently the most controversial singer in the Arab world. She launched her career with music videos that contained extremely sexual images and made other such singers look significantly more innocent. She is on the top list of porn stars, and although that might be a rumor, that is the reason Egyptian officials have forbidden her from entering the country. It's possible that these officials don't want to take into consideration that she a performer and not a singer.

Despite all criticisms, Najla has
returned to business and is currently situated in Lebanon, where she feels she is accepted.

The Duet is a Fraud!

Remember earlier this year when it had been reported that Ruby and Maria were scheduled to record a duet together? Well, this news has officially been declared a prank.

Ruby's business manager Sharif Sabry has denied circulating rumors of a duet to be sung by Egyptian singer Ruby and Lebanese singer Maria. He has claimed that these rumors have only been mere endeavors to lessen the popularity of Ruby.

In other news...

It has been reported that Ruby is
taking private singing lessons to strengthen her voice when performing on stage. Her director/producer Sharif Sabry has promised her fans that the next album will be a surprise hit that will meet their taste and satisfaction.

But let's just hope it's not another rumor!

Moroccan Threat to Protest Against Nancy

Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has changed the area of her next concert in Morocco that is to be held on Mar. 20. Moroccan athletes were expected to reschedule their area and time as well in order to make it easier for Ajram and this has caused them to become very angry and threaten to go on strike if the problem is not solved.

It was the captains of the teams who have refused to play at a different arena saying that it is ridiculous to have to change everything just to make it easier for Ajram. They stated that if the issue is not resolved, they will hold a protest.

Ehab's Confiscated Home

Ehab Tawfiq

It has been reported that a court in Cairo has confiscated Egyptian singer Ehab Tawfiq's home due to an unpaid $10,000 phone bill from an Australian hotel. Apparently, Tawfiq assumed that the company for which he used to work, Abu al Houl Arts Co., would pay. But it looks like the company is holding a few grudges against the man for having once held a separate concert for a different sponsor.

In other news...

It's possible that we might hear a duet with Tawfiq and Moroccan singer Samira Said! Tawfiq has high hopes that a duet with her will be just as successful as her previous songs with other prominent singers.

Carole Sings for the Gulf...

Carole Samaha

(from the set of her new music video)

Lebanese singer Carole Samaha just released her new song, "Nezlet al Satara" ("The Curtains Came Down"), which is sung in a Gulf dialect. Samaha feels that this song has opened many paths in her singing career. Her fans in the Gulf have been wishing that she do a song in their accent ever since she hit it big with her other songs from her latest album. This Gulf song, which was written by Saudi Prince Muhammad bin Abdallah al Faisal and composed by Prince Bandar bin Fahid, has only proven to be very successful.

The
music video to accompany the song shows a type of class and elegance that very few other women singers have managed to pull.
